anyone done the RT/LPN/Paramedic accelerated program at Lansing comm. college?

  1. I'm an RT thinking of doing the accelerated program at Lansing CC. I live in the metro Detroit area so it would be a HIKE for me but being an RT, I can start the nursing program in the 2nd year and only have to do 1 year in order to graduate w/an assoc. in nursing. I'd love some feedback from anyone who's done this program.

I didn't attend LCC, but worked with alot of nurses who went there, and I know that their program is very hard to get into, and basis for admission is crazy...the last I heard their waiting list was 5 yrs.

There is no waiting list used at LCC, everyone that applies gets a point ranking based on the points used for admission and the top scoring people get into the program. If you do not get in, then you just reapply the following year.

I will be one of the first students in the accelerated program for people who have a bachelors in another field but unfortunately do not know anyone who has done the accelerated program for LPNS/RTs/Paramedics. I know that they have not done that program the past 1-2 years but are starting it again. I believe they will be accepting around 30 students for that program. I know that all of their programs overall are very good. The pass rate for the NCLEX-RN is 96%.
