Re: WCCCD starting in January 2009
Just finished my first semester! The advice I can give is this: pre-read before lecture. If you have Mrs. D for lecture then record her lectures and listen for key points that she repeats in class. Listen to her stories too, they are usually a clue to some questions. If you have Maddie, then know those modules inside and out. The first 7.5 weeks are really like bootcamp. Be ready for the ride of your life...very well worth it in the end though. Try to balance out your time to each class, figure out early which class is easier for you (some people found lecture easier and some found lab easier) and focus more of your time on the one you have trouble with. Take really good notes and with lab, practice, practice, practice! I would recommend spending 2-3 days a few hours each practicing especially if your having trouble.
Nur112, is another story. If you have Maddie, again know those modules inside and out. If you have Matt, RECORD his lectures, take really good notes in class and then go home and relisten to the lectures and fill in your notes with anything you missed. Focus on your notes! If you ask the class a question it will more than likely end up on the test.
Overall, take a deep breath! It isn't easy, but it is so do-able. Hope this helps! Oh and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
