WCCCD New Northwest campus

So all you WCCCD nursing students; what do you think of the new NW campus. Here are my insights on it: I think it is a 100% improvement over the old campus, it appears to be much cleaner, at least where I have been. I love the HSC building and the new nursing office is awesome (especially for the staff, much more roomier and nicer). The labs are very cool, they are set up like hospital rooms and although I don't really know what the other labs look like, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen so far. However, the bookstore is forever packed and they make you wait in line to enter the store because they will only let so many students in at one time (personally I think this is sad because aren't we all suppose to be adults here?)

Location could definitely be better, but the way I see it..things could always be worse. The abundance of security and Wayne County sheriffs patroling the campus tells me that they know that the area is not that great!

I am just grateful to have a spot in the program and am looking forward to the next 18 months!

So guys and gals at WCCCD what do you think of the new campus?

I agree the new northwest campus is very nice. It finally feel like an environment that we can really learn in. Transition is difficult and they still have a few kinks to work out but I am very happy to be there. As far as the neighbor goes, I think that it is 10 times better than the old campus. Actually the residential area is quite nice (if you every notice or driven along Outer Drive.) I thought the extra security was to verify the permits and direct traffic and such but who really know the reason, anywho... we have a great campus to go to.

Congrats on starting, Nursing school as been both the best and worst experience of my life but I wouldn't change a thing!! Best wishes!!

Dont worry the lines will cut way down after the book rush is over, usually after they stop accepting the book vouchers. I think that there is so much security because this campus is so much better than the last and they are taking so much more pride in it. I kinda feel like I go to a real college now haha. Good luck in nursing, your first year is going to fly by

I absolutely love the big improvement and it is so much more roomy and comfortable. I just hate that you have to go across the way or farther to eat.

Serenity I'll see you in class 2moro I think that was you that was about to sign my paper for the exercise in 110. I sat in the last row in back at the right end.

Your probably right about the security. I live 5 minutes from Western and I don't like to drive long distances so EVERY neighborhood is bad in my small minded opinion LOL. Even my own neighborhood is bad LOL.

Today the bookstore wasn't so bad, so I think the book rush is starting to die down.

See some of you tomorrow in class.

I just went over to practice in the NW lab today for the first time (I'm a westerner this semester). Very nice, and definitely a huge improvement over the old campus. You all have a great lab set-up, and I am so glad there is enough room for us to come over and practice whenever.

One week down, six and a half weeks to go!
