Re: Wayne State University Traditional Program
I'm a first-year traditional student at Wayne State. Here's the
admission priority order on the CON website. If you have any questions/doubts/uncertainties, it would be in your advantage to discuss them with one of the
admissions officers. They are very helpful and they understand how stressful it can be trying to get into nursing school. Plus, they get to know you that way.
From the sounds of it, I think you should be fine getting into the school, but then again, I don't want to make promises because anything can happen. My overall GPA was about a 3.2. I had to retake some of the science pre-reqs to raise my science GPA to a 2.9. I took all my pre-req classes at Wayne State which was an advantage, but there are a number of students in my nursing class who completed everything at a community college.
I totally understand how stressful it can be. I was a complete nutcase all last winter and spring up until mid-June when I got the acceptance letter. I was so afraid that I wouldn't get in with all the science retakes I had. I only applied to Wayne State's Nursing school and nowhere else. UofD-Mercy screwed me over, and OU had a too long of a waiting list. I had absolutely no backup at all, I just couldn't afford to be in school forever, and I still can't! I hope everything works out.
