Want a job as GN

I graduated BS nursing May 08. I never worked as Nurse extern due to school and family. I am waiting for my NCLEX in June. I applied in couple of hospitals for GN positions. I have not received any calls from any where. I was wondering is there still demand for nursing! or they are not calling me as I do not have any experiance. Please share your experiances if any or please give any suggestions how to get a job soon. Thanks in advance.
