University of Detroit Mercy - Admissions to 2nd Degree BSN Program

by logique

I have a few questions about the U of D 2nd Degree Nursing program.

1 - If I apply now, with the majority of the pre-req's completed, will I be able to start the program in May of 2009, granted I finish the pre-req's prior to the program start? (Is there a wait list?)
2 - Can anyone post their experiences with the U of D 2nd Degree BSN program?

Call Susan Davis at the (McAuley) School of Nursing. She can answer all those questions with accuracy. Number is 313-993-1245. Best wishes.

I would be interested in info too. I just graduated from the U of D dental school with my bachelors in dental hygiene, and am seriously considering the 2nd degree option for nursing.

I can tell you that the dental hygiene program was horribly tough-but I think it was an excellent program that prepared me well. I know nothing about the nursing program but since it's accelerated, I can't imagine that it would be any easier!

Another thing to consider is the expense- the accelerated BSN is close to 40,000! My two years for the Bachelor for dental hygiene was $60,000

Good luck!
