| |  Third Semester - DONE!!!!
One semester to go!!!!
I just kicked butt on my last nursing exam for the semester and picked up my books for my last semester of nursing school today! I am beginning to get quietly excited as that distantly light is getting brighter. OB/Peds, I'm not interested in you, but here I come anyway!!
My simple plan, which I have followed to the letter, has served me well. So has this:
- Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your goal.
- When you think you can't do something, you WON'T.
When you think you CAN, you WILL.
Good luck to all who are taking their finals this week, and heading in to their well-deserved Christmas breaks. To my WCCCC comrades, we rock! To my HFCC fabulous friend, you rock too!! Aw, heck, we ALL rock!!!!

I am so geeked, semester 2 pretty much done and over. I passed theory finals today. Proud B student here. Can you believe we still have clinical in the morning!!! It is almost 12A and I can not sleep. Tomorrow will be our last clinical day, then we do skills check offs and our CAP test on Friday.
Wow, what a year. I do feel like I learned TONS!!! I am gearing up for one more year...ummmm, or should I say 30 more weeks?  Congrats to all.....esp you entering the last semester. Yeah, YOU ROCK!!!

Congrats!! Now you'll just have to get used to having personal time again! Now that you've passed 2nd semester, you should apply for the Michigan Nursing Scholarship. It's $4000 for the year, we only get $2000 though  , I applied for it at the beginning of this Semester and it took Dean Burkhart FOREVER to turn our applications in. You have to work in the state after graduation for two years and have no Nursing class failures. It's practically free money. I received mine right before Thanksgiving. That was the fastest $1000 ever spent.

Congratz D!! I passed OB, shew...I don't know, just didn't seem as interested in that subject as I have with the others, but I did learn a lot, on my own...reading hundreds of pages of textbook. I sure miss Caroline and Maddie....
We did it, we are all done with our first year...YAY...
To everyone in this with us...we do deserve our break..I am looking forward to it, already got my Christmas cards filled out today..they are late..
We are all done with our clinicals D, I have never been more happy either...we were at a place that didn't really want us, so that kind of made a bad atmosphere, and some of the student's griped constantly about everything under the sun...kind of like that Comcast commercial ya know...Okay, Congratz to everyone, enjoy your break.

I am guessing it will pretty much be like OB where we read AND have to understand the whole darn book. Can you say 950 pages?  Is it easier in the sense we are getting use to the whole nursing school process? Please share what the 3rd semester has been like.

Oh, how is nursing issues going? I hear a lot of paper work in that class. Do you recommend nursing issues WITH phych or with M/S 3?

Nah Sweetie,
It's going to be an uphill battle til you graduate. Everyone has sacrificed so much to get where they are, just celebrate during your break. Make Christmas super special and let your loved ones know how much they mean to you and your almost done. Psych easier? No!, Everything you've studied before had to do with the body. Now you have to deal with the emotional. First psych test 13 chapters, second test 12 chapters and the final was cumulative.
I had an excellent study group. We met every Sunday and Tuesday and studied 6 hours each day, plus studying on our own so we could go over what we didn't understand. Our study group consistently had some of the highest grades in the class.
If you can take issues in the summer I say take it then. Otherwise do it with Med/Surg.
In Psych you have two very long careplans with bib cards (these are not the same as what you've done before), two assessments(long), Client interaction paper, self assessment(6-8 pages), community visit where you have to visit a community agency and write a paper, Court visit paper, and make a teaching plan for the patients. All papers are done in APA format. I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting another paper. That may be a reason I thought MS3 was so easy. We only had to read 4-5 chapters!!
