support socks?

by Lisa621

Hi-
I was just wondering if any of you wear support socks for nursing clinicals or jobs? If so which ones? And if you on the heavier side I would love to hear about that as well. I am not obese, however I am heavier and am worried about cutting off my circulation instead of helping..lol

I wear support socks for clinicals and I think they do help. I am technically obese (I'm a size 12 and obese on the bmi scale but 3 more pounds and I'm back to overweight -- first year in the program really packed on the pounds!!!)

I wear the knee high ones that they sell at life uniform-- nothing special. I bought the three pack and I don't mind being on my feet. Not sure if it's the socks, the shoes, or a combination of the two but it's not as bad to be on my feet in the hospital as it is when I'm up on my feet for hours on end working retail.

Waynestate--thank you. What shoes did you buy? I am considered obese as well. I am a size 16. But I carry it in my leggs. That is why I am worried that they will hurt and not help. I but the nurse mate shoes I believe--the lightweight ones for now.

What shoes did you get?

I have spring step "greta" clogs (think knock off danskos.....) that I got at Life uniform as well. They're comfy-- never tried the nurse mates but I hope they'll be comfortable for you

We need to be nice to our feet!

I wear the juzo pantyhose. They are expensive but last forever and don't pinch. I technically am obese too, a size 14-16 and have lipidema, so my physical therapist recommended these to me. They are a PIA to get on and off but my legs feel good for the first time in years. I carry all my weight in my legs too...good luck
