RN to BSN in Ann Arbor-admission difficulty?

I have been looking at U of MI RN to BSN and beyond the minimal GPA admissions, does anyone have any insight into just how competitive the admission is for this program? What would be a solid GPA for entrance? Does ones GPA even matter so much (beyond the minimum) for RN to BSN in contrast to the BSN program? Are wait lists a concern for RN to BSN in MI?

Also, what are some other options near Ann Arbor for RN to BSN? How do those compare to U of MI?

I appreciate any feedback or insight!

Hi,

I will be starting the accelerated 12 month program in a few months, so I'm not sure about your specific questions. BUT... you can get all your questions answered if you call the School of Nursing Admissions info line 1-734 763 5985, and ask for Cathy Jenkins-Newton. She's very nice, and knows all this info.
Or, you could check their website: There is a lot of stuff posted there about the RN-BSN course:
go to University of Michigan
then click on Academic Programs
then click on undergraduate
then click on Nursing
then click on academic programs
then click on RN Studies

Thanks foro the info! I have checked all of the offocial web site info. I justwondered if the reality is a different story. I live in MD currently and at U of MD the official story is that one must have achieved a 2.75 in their RN studies. However, the reality is that the cut off is much, much higher due to the competitiveness of the program. I wondered if U of MI is similar.

The contact info is great. I'm sure they will be able to tell me what the cut off's were for recent classes.

I could be wrong, but I think Oakland University has such a program, and is mostly online. It is located in Rochester, MI, which is completely the other direction from Ann Arbor, but if it is mostly online, the location wouldn't matter too much.
