Has anyone been to their interview for Oakland University's Accelerated 2nd Degree Program yet? Mine is later this month and I was hoping for some advice/tips.

Hi,

I had my interview for May 2010 on March 17th. Actually I was the very first interview. I was admitted a week after my interview.

If you have any questions, just send me a PM.

I am graduating from Ou's 2nd degree program in May. From what I've heard, do not go in your interview and say that you're in it for the $$$, you like the job security, etc. They only want people who genuinely like helping others, its their calling to be a nurse, etc. If they think for any reason that you're only going into nursing because of the $$$ or shortage you prob. won't get in. IT IS so true though. You really have to love what you do to be successful and long lasting. If you are only there for the check then you will be miserable. You have to honestly be a caring person do be able to do what nurses do. Just a little advice!!!

Can you give more examples on what they ask specifically? I'll be going for an interview next month. Obviously you don't want to go in saying things like it's about the money and job security. But what else do they ask? Do they ask you what you feel your strengths and weaknesses are?

Also, any advice on the attire? Should I wear a tie? (I'm male )
How many interviewers are on the panel?

Do they like direct answers or do they want you to explain yourself?

Thanks very much for the help!
