OCC accelerated ADN program


I was just wondering if any of the folks who where accepted into the fall 2008 program were considering going into the accelerated program.. Unfortunenately, I will not be able to attend because I need the extra time to prepare my family for this transition. I wish I knew about this possibility a few months ago.

I can't do the accelerated program either. I think if I did, I would go crazy! I need a few months off in the summer to wind down and spend time with my family. If I had no kids, I would definately do it!

The accelerated program is a new partnership between OCC and Detroit Medical Center. 60 students are going to be accepted based on GPA. It will start this May, instead of Sept. And end in Aug. of 2009 , instead of April of 2010. You will also do all your clinicals at DMC hospitals.

I am going to try to do it. I really want to get in but I have to admit that the thought of starting school next month is terrifying!!

oh wow, that's awesome...who gets the choice to do it? the people accepted to the sept 09 program?

The program is for the people accepted for Sept. 2008. So the program will start one month from now! I would think that the program would also be available next year too.

i hope so b/c that is when i can apply that would be so great. i am deciding between an accelerated bsn or adn...and i think this would make my decision!

What is the summer schedule? straight through until fall with a week off in between summer and fall classes?
