The Nursing program at Baker is spread out to about 4 different campuses. Does that mean they select xx students PER campus?

Also, I'd love to hear some NET scores

Is the NET the nursing entrance exam? If so then yes, I took that. If I remember correctly I got somewhere between 85-90%.
Our application process took GPA, entrance test score, and if you repeated any classes into account for acceptance into the program.
Hope this helps

Yes, they select xx students per campus. I think Owosso is 30 students for both the fall and winter program for a total of 60 per year. I want to say Flint is the same, but don't quote me on that.

Flint takes 30 each time they start a new class. (Fall and spring, I think) and Clinton Twp takes 80 (40 fall, 40 spring).

I just read on another thread that Baker Flint uses the Hesi, and I know that Clinton Twp uses the NET as their entrance exam.

My NET score was an 85. My gpa is 3.79 currently, but it was the fact that I dropped a class (early into it!) and retook it that kept me from getting in this time. I am really close to getting in... or I would be if they get down a few alternates!

After taking my pre-req's at Baker, I still have to take Nutrition at MCC... and I have to take Chemistry, as well, to get into some other programs. I have sociology, so I don't have to take that again... I think somewhere had that on their list as well.

MCC offers Nutrition online, I think that how I am going to take it. My brother in law goes there and he says their summer courses are super short also, like 2 -3 weeks. I PM'd you about Baker.

I wonder how they work the online terms. If I can sign up for it and start the class the second half of the semester, then if I get into the spring quarter at Baker, I can just drop it. I didn't consider taking in the summer... that would be a good option too.

I am afraid that I am going to sign up for it and then be stuck taking the class when I get into Baker's program.

I went up to the school today and Karen isn't in until Monday. Which sucks. I didn't get any new information about anything...

Hi, I am actually new to this site. I have a few stresses that I can't shake. I would love some advice. If all goes well with my classes, I will be applying for the nursing program at Flint in the spring of 2009. I do know that if I don't get in I can always apply again for winter. What happens if I don't get in then????? What are my nursing options????? should I then give up?

Good luck with Baker nursing program. I had a 3.9 and 83 on NET and did not get in and I applied 2 times. I eventually just did the LPN program at Baker and graduated in August, now I'm going to be doing the bridge program somewhere (not sure where exactly). If I had to do all over again I would have went to a different college all together.

That is very unusual that you would not have got in with those kinds of scores. I know for a fact that that two years ago the lowest gpa was 3.6 and the lowest net score was 64 that they accepted. Did you repeat any courses which made you lose points? As I said, it is very competitive I know, but a 3.9 and an 83 on the net would have got you in just this last time for fall. I just don't want people thinking it is impossible to get in. I had a 3.92 and a 69 net score and did not get in, but I was only missing a fraction of a point. I know that I need to increase my net score now.

I had never repeated and courses. I don't know why I was never accepted? I applied in winter of 07 and again in the spring, then when that didn't work I applied to the LPN and was accepted. So I don't know what changed in 1 year from you applying? I do have a friend that got in, she had a 95 on NET and a 4.0, she is graduating this spring.
