Re: No worker left behind???
I lsot my job in March. I went to Michigan Works and found out about the No Worker Left Behind Program. I didn't go to the orientation, as they said pre-req's were not covered. Anyone who it trying to get into nursing, please know it is a very long process. If you haven't had classes in over 7 years, you will need to take pre-req's before you are even accepted to the nursing school, and once you are, there is about a 2 year wait. I will be able to apply for the nursing program next spring (Im attending Schoolcraft), and that's with going to school 3/4 time for a full year.
Also, I might be wrong, but I'm not aware of the NWLB giving you a check. From my understanding you get an account that can only be used to the college/bookstore where you are attending.
Good luck to everyone on this venture! It's a hard road, but keep on keeping on!
