More Baker College questions.

I have 5 pre-reqs to go and I am ready to be done with them...lol. So I am taking Oral Communication and Micro in the fall that leaves me with:

Human Body-Holistic
Nursing Pharmacology
Pathophysiology

Question 1, I have winter and spring to finish these in order to apply for Fall 09. Are these classes that I can do together and still get A's or is this too hard when combined together?

2. If not taken together, which 2 would you take together in the winter and the one by itself in Spring.

3. If I combine them, what happens to my financial aid if I am off for spring, summer, and possible longer if not accepted?

Lastly, I have read that Macomb is basing their entrance for 2010 on all required credits. I recieved a not so great grade on AP 1, so would it be a good idea to repeat this class at Macomb for a higher grade if I am not accepted the first time? Macomb told me that they do not hold against you if you repeat a class for a better grade, what do you think?

Thanks!!

I took Nursing Pharm and Patho together. If I were you I would take Nursing Pharm alone in the winter semister and take Patho and Holistics together.

Macomb is not changing their admission process until Feb 2010, so if you are going to apply THIS February then it is still based off the most recent 12 credits you've taken.

If you are planning to apply when they change the admission process then I would most def take A&P over again as from what I've read, most people that have gotten in had a 4.0 GPA and at least 90% on the HESI.

Have you thought about getting on the Henry Ford waitlist?

Just asking cause I've been going to Baker and have to say....they are on my craplist right now. lol

I thought about getting on their waiting list but do they require additional classes than what is needed at Baker? I am so burned out on pre-reqs, I have 5 more to go at Baker and 3 more at Macomb, so 8 more...bah!

I agree with the last op. Definitely do not take those three classes together. Holistics is pretty easy, but Pharm is kind of challenging. You may want to take that alone.

Well put it this way, HFCC only has 6 pre-req's, where as Baker has 13! You have 5 more to go @ at least 700 bucks each, so that's at least $3500 more dollars, plus books, and when your done with those you still won't be guaranteed a spot in their Nursing program, you'll still be wondering, worried and waiting. I'm sure most of the ones you've taken at Baker will transfer to HF.

HFCC pre-req's are BIO 131 (I took SCI100E @ Baker and she said that was fine), Math (I took both Intro and Intermediate Algebra @ Baker; although I'm not sure if you need Intermediate or not in order for it to cancel out), Chemistry (I'm taking Chem 1050 @ MCC this fall, no chem class will transfer from Baker to HFCC) English 1 & 2 (both Eng 101 & 102 will transfer from Baker) Psych (I took Psych 1010 @ Macomb but I believe Psych 111 will transfer from Baker) and then the NET test. That's it....take those and then you get on the waiting list. Then there is no more worrying to do. You KNOW will be have a spot within the next 18 months. From what I've seen here, people who are getting on the list in December are starting their Nursing classes the next August.

That's just my opinion, but I think it's totally worth going to HFCC rather than wasting time taking 13 pre-req's @ Baker and still not knowing whether you'd get in or not.

There are still a couple more classes you'd have to take for the HFCC program, but they are allowed to be taken in con-junction with the Nursing program or you can take them while you are on the waiting list, waiting to get into the program.

You can take path and pharm together, but take the path at the AH campus with sucaet. Best move I ever made... ever. No papers, no projects, just the tests. Pharm was a challenge, I have to say. It would have been more of a challenge hadn't the teacher added points to every single test we took.

Let's just say, I got an A, but I felt that I earned only a B.

Tiff... is the last 12 credits only classes you took at MCC?? Or counting your transfer credits?

I need to get over there and talk to an advisor. But I never have anyone to watch my kids...

Gem, if you are thinking about MCC the Hesit registration started two weeks ago. I know it fills up fast. I think I am going to go tomorrow and register for it.

Do I have to have anything done to take it?? Or do I just have to sign up for that and worry about the classes later??

Shoot.

I don't want to miss it.

No you don't have to worry about the classes, but the HESI is $50 to take it so you have to pay that at the time you register.
