Michigan: Does anyone know of a LPN or RN ADN program with no wait or that is free

Does anyone know of a LPN or RN ADN program with no wait or that is free in Michigan?

I need grants or scholarships and a LPN or RN ADN program with no wait.

Thanks so much!

"Not I said the cat" I have never heard of any education here in Michigan for free, especialy one with a degree. You can't even go to school for free to become a CNA, or nurse assistant, or unit secretary, and these are non-degree programs.

I'm pretty sure that all of the nursing programs in michigan you will have to wait to get into to. Check out your local community college and visit their FA office.

All nursing programs LPN or higher have some type of wait to them. If you are unemployed from losing your job due to layoff or the place closing Michigan Works has a program for re-training. If you qualify they will either send you to someplace that can retrain you, or pay for most or all of your college. The catch is that it must be for a program that is proven that the job rates are going to rise not fall, be at specific schools, and take no longer than 2 years total to complete including an pre-reqs.

They have you take test and talk with a counselor. I was approved but they do not take RN because it is a 3 year program in total. You may be able to do LPN if you are qualified because I believe that is a 2 year total program, but RN is not included and they do not let you pay for your pre-reqs and then have them pay for the actual RN program.

There IS FREE MONEY AVAILABLE in Michigan for a 2-year RN or a 1-year LPN program or a 2-year LPN to RN ladder program.

I just don't qualify.

I was hoping that someone could help me.

Can you please tell me of what programs there are that pay for nursing school? I am just curious. I'm aware that there are scholarships but they don't pay enough to even cover all of the nursing courses.

No worker left behind DOES cover an RN program. They won't pay for anything before you are in the program, but once you are in they will. If you go to a community college the funding is enough for your entire tuition, books, and even supplies. So I guess in a way it is free, but you'll need to have been laid off or taken a buyout to qualify for it.

Hmmm...I will have to check into this, I was approved by the program originally when I lost my job but they told me that the RN was not one they will cover because of the length. I asked them if I paid for the pre-reqs or the last year myself they said no. Im assuming that I do not qualify now that I am done with my pre-reqs a year and a half later.

There is a nursing program that is for free, it's at the Detroit HealthCare Career Center, they have a free LPN program, as well as CNA and PCA class. The CNA class is like 4 weeks long and the PCA is 5 weeks long

There is a LPN program funded through the State of Michigan called NO WORKER LEFT BEHIND... They have a seven week (7/days a week) LPN program... I'm not sure about the details, but there is no wait, or fee.

Contact your local Work Force office, and let them know that you are calling about the LPN training. You do have to fill out an application, if your app is approved you will have to take a test, and its simple 8th grade math and reading...

Hope I provided some information that will be useful to you ....
