MCC registration question

by A4L4S

This is for current MCC students-

I was trying to register today for my 1600 and 1700 classes for the winter. The 1600s went fine but when I tried to register for the 1700s it would come up saying that I cannot register for 1720 because I have not started the pre-reqs. Since I can't register for 1720 that means I can't pick up 1730 or 1710 either. Is this normal? Do we have to wait to later to schedule the 2nd half of the semester or is the computer for some reason just blocking me?

Thanksfor any insight! Having to register on a holiday if frustrating when there is no one around to help!

I was actually just going to post a comment that said "Merry Christmas from MCC". I'm really irritated because it's after 2am on Christmas and I've been trying for over an hour to register but Web Advisor is too busy. It keeps timing out and will not let me register. Grrrr, They need to have a better system. I can't go to sleep until I'm either registered or dead and I think the former is looking more likely at this point.

I spent a hellish 4 hours between midnite and 6 am trying to register both by phone and online. I gave up at 3 am when their website crashed (I think) and the phone system was no longer taking registrations (which is odd). I set my alarm to get up at 5:30 and was finally able to get the phone system to not boot me off halfway through the process (webadvisor was still not functioning correctly). I also got errors that my prereqs were not fulfilled, etc, etc. I think many people are still not able to get into the system and register. This was a real awful way to spend the last few moments of a holiday.

We all had the same drama last night, it continued through this morning to this afternoon. Essentially the tech support people were on vacation, and the school (registration office in particular) was expecting a lax day haha. They worked hard on it though kinda felt bad for them in a way.

Suggestion for next year, pick a day other than Christmas, I mean whoever picked that day deserves a swift kick where it don't shine

I registered for the 1600's & went to the nsg office this morning & they registered me for the 1700's. It was very frustrating and was up all night too. Last night, the clinical I wanted said it was full, so this morning I dropped the classes & put in the original spot I wanted & thankfully got it. I guess for some reason it was showing some classes were full, but they were not. Everytime I have tried to register on line or by phone it seems there is always a problem. Hopefully, they will fix it for next time. Nothing like ruining the holiday cheer.

How was the nursing office handling the registration? Did they actually have computer access that worked or were they just writing down people's preferences on a list?

Someone entered it into the computer, then I had to go the admissions office to pick up the registration paperwork.
