Go for it. I took one of mine in at the waiste so it wasn't so boxy and it was fine. I ended up ripping it but I loved it before that! I might also add a cargo pocket on the pants. I have them on my work scrubs and love them. The instructors I asked said it would be fine.

Thanks! That is what I needed to know!

Why does the jacket help for phych. clinical??

It's not really that is helps anything. You don't wear scrubs in psych- it's usually business casual clothes with your jacket.

If the school didn't care what our uniforms looked like they wouldn't dictate which ones to buy. Nobody messes with the uniforms, I have never seen it done. I am very surprised that any instructor said to go ahead and "make it your own" or modify it.

I would assume that the best bet is to call the Nursing office at MCC and find out what they will or will not accept for sure.

I assumed that hemming of the pants would be ok? I'm 5'2" and the pants that I have are for someone 5'6" it seems. Dove has a special section for "tall" students, but us shorties are left out. I only have a 27 1/2" inseam (got piano legs! LOL). They are very long on me. I can only pull the waist up "Steve Urkel" high so much until it's cutting into my circulation... for lack of a better term.

Also, on a different topic.....I called the Macomb County Health Dept. and they said that the Hep B vaccines are $33 each, and you need (3). Total cost around $100. TB test through them is $8. Just incase anyone was looking into this....

Did they said anything about the other vaccines? I still haven't decided if I should try to use my insurance to get my immunity checked or just get the vaccines again.

Thank you so much for your opinion, I will be sure to take that into consideration.

I called the Wayne County HD, because their vaccines are only $10 each and they are out of the Hep B vax.

The scrubs that I bought from someone were slightly altered. Both pair are hemmed, and one of the tops is taken in. I am pretty sure that having clothing that is too big and baggy could end up being somewhat like hair that's long and hanging down. It is more likely to get yuck on it. If your pants are dragging on the floor that wouldn't be a good thing.

Maybe you just didn't know they were altered. I'm not saying do anything drastic like adding ties or pink lace, but taking them in in areas or shortening them is not a big deal. Many people in my class did, and no one would have had a clue if it wasn't mentioned. I was surprised when they said go ahead and add a cargo pocket, but haven't done it yet because that IS something I want to double check.

Yes, HEM YOUR PANTS! That's not even something to worry about! My pants were like 5 inches too long, and there was no way I would walk around like that. I used the iron on sticky stuff so it's not permenant. It was a easy quick fix. A couple girls rolled theirs up but it looked really sloppy.

Well either way, good luck next year. Never be afraid to ask questions, relax, and everything will be fine.
