From what I recall you get the first syllabus a couple weeks before your actual start date (I started in January and received the syllabus in late December).

All you need for nursing school:

Littman Classic steth, Nursing Diagnosis Handbook, Drug Guide/Lab Guide (or PDA but books have crept their way in again and i'm at the end of the road), and dun dun dun a brain!

Don't waste your money on 40 extra books or gadgets, they won't make it easier or help you.

So, I got a letter today from MCC Nursing Dept! Although, it was not as exciting as the actual "Acceptance Letter". This one was pretty exciting as it gave me my start date. I start in October!

I just found it odd that they actually assigned me ALL of my classes and times.... I thought they were just going to assign us our "lab"? It doesn't matter. It works out good for me and I'm very excited to start!

So who's with me and who's got different dates?

Whether they assign you all your classes or not, you don't have a choice. There is only one section of each class. All 40 students have all of the classes together, you are just in smaller groups for clinicals.

Hey Mich,

I hear you on the patho micro! Yikes I can't wait for this one to be done. I have a lab test tomorrow and Lec test on thurs. I was excited about getting the letter too. I start in Aug, but I thought I would be able to see where my first clinical for 1630 would be and it is just a code. Anyone know anything about how to determine where and when that one will be?

Also can anyone help me figure out which CPR class to take through the Red Cross? There are quite a few options and I am not sure which one to take.

I took the code and looked in the Fall 2009 registtration book which tells you where and when it is. I can look yours up for you if you dont have the book!

Yep, What CorazodeOro said They Fall 2009 registration book has the codes in it. You can PM me, or I can bring it to class and we can figure it out.

The Patho.... All I have to say is OMG what was I thinking. I too have a lab test tomorrow and lecture Wednesday. I feel like the amount is so overwhelming. Although, somehow I'm remembering some things, I don't think I'm actually really knowing the real "meat and potatoes" of it. GOOD LUCK Deb!!!!!!!! Just think in 2 weeks and 4 days, it will be over. We will be glad it's done and over with... that is AFTER the class ends! HaHaHa!

Corozon and Debi: Congrats on your start dates!!!!!

Corozon, I believe there was some info in our packets we got at orientation that said which CPR class to take. Although, I'd like to hear the answer to this question to. I'm thinking we can contact the Nursing Secretary (I don't think we can write names on here?) and they will help you.
