I altered mine to fit better and never had a problem. Lots of us have.

I was surprised when they said go ahead and add a cargo pocket, but haven't done it yet because that IS something I want to double check.

Yes, HEM YOUR PANTS! That's not even something to worry about! My pants were like 5 inches too long, and there was no way I would walk around like that. I used the iron on sticky stuff so it's not permenant. It was a easy quick fix. A couple girls rolled theirs up but it looked really sloppy.

Well either way, good luck next year. Never be afraid to ask questions, relax, and everything will be fine.

So cutting them down to booty short length is out? And embroidering my name in stitching across the bottom... that would be out too, I suppose... drats.

Thanks for all the information!

I need help with deciding which stethoscope to go with. I have been debating between the Littman Cardiac III and the Littman classic SE. I would really appreciate any input from current students and those of you that have already bought yours for the fall. I have read many previous posts on here about it and most say go with the Cardiac III but some say it is not necessary. In my opinion I would like to get a good one now so I don't have to buy another one later on, however I have also heard from many people that nurses and doctors walk off with them. I will be getting it engraved though. Thank you in advance for your help!!

I am upgrading mine from the lightweight to the Cardiac III. People seem happy with it and I figure it is an investment. It has a great sound quality. I know people who have the classic and like it too.

I haven't heard of doctors and nurses walking off with them, but I guess it is possible. We keep our on us at all times though, so it would be hard! Just don't leave it lying around and you have nothing to worry about!

I'm glad you all are talking about stethoscopes. I have no idea what is "best" and figured I would need the "best" one to hear heart sounds as I have no idea what to even listen for!

Does anyone know if we are supposed to receive any more information about our health requirements, like forms for the doctor to fill out? Or do we just request copies of everything and turn it all in??? I feel like I am way behind because I have only scheduled a BLS class so far and have uniforms, but I still have to get my titers, drug test and tb test and stethoscope.

Remember that your physical has to be done in the month before you start, so you aren't behind at all! Last year the physical sheet was in the folder we got at orientation. For the titers I turned in photocopies of all the results.

They didnt say it had to be within a month, they just recommended that it not be too early but they said if you got it in June it wouldn't be a big deal. They didn't give us a physical sheet this year so I don't know about that...
