MCC letter came today

So how many people applied for Fall 2008?

At least my letter said 345/750

I ranked 349/750 with a 87 hesi and 3.57 gpa, never would've thought 20 years ago two B's could have such an impact. I wonder how they do the math to figure scores.

I paid my entrance fee as well today. When I went, there was another lady there who had a very valid question. If they have already ranked the other 630 people, why weren't our scores in the computer ?

Now you all know that I go to bat for those who have worked so hard to get the rankings done (perhaps because I have been one of the behind-the-scene people myself), but I really did think that it was a

"Things that make you go Hmmmmmm....." kind of moments.

I guess they just want us to pester them for the next week or two. Now that is something I can do .

They say the ranking was only out of 750 but usually 1000-1200 apply. I am thinking that the ranking is only out of 750 because that's how many people had complete files.

Just a heads up, I went into the enrollment office yesterday and they were entering the rankings by hand into the computers as of that moment. I was able to get mine and was pleasantly surprised (was tied for 6th). So to all those that made it in, your ranking should be available now. Godspeed!

They wouldn't give me my score yesterday am. Just curious, what was your GPA & hesi score? I'd like to get an idea where I might have ranked. Thanks & congrats!

I rank 6th with you. The woman said that there were perhaps 6 to 8 people in that ranking although I didn't think to ask how many people are before me (us). I was too happy.

Kakustak, my scores were 4.0/95 FYI. Hope you get in for the time frame that you want.

I heard there were many more then 750, that is all they bothered to rank though(I guess it makes sense, because if you are beyond that point it really wouldn't matter, or it could be that the others didn't have complete files!) I also thought it was strange that the info wasn't entered for the top 120...I guess maybe it is in one system they use for ranking and maybe not in our full macomb file at this point and they have to be combined or something...who knows! By the way congratulations on being 6th! That is awesome! I'm pretty sure I'm closer to 120...but I don't care, I could be 120 and that's fine cause it's still in! I would be curious to hear the stats they give the new applicants this year at the seminars...I was so scared when I left last year and am still so surprised that I actually did it! When I met with a counsler this time last year after not attending school since 2003 I was told that with my current grades(which were not good because I had a BAD freshman year) I didn't stand a chance and to not even bother(she failed to mention the last 12 credit loop hole). Obviously I didn't listen to her, because two perfect semesters and a 91 on the HESI later here I am in the top 120! I wish I could remember her name because I'd love to go shove it in her face for being so negative(isn't there job to guide and help? I mean yeah don't, give false hope, but you should never discourage trying...what ever happened to an A for effort? I mean I put the effort in and got an A, heck I got 4 and am working on a 5th, and not in super easy classes either!) Sorry I had to vent a bit! Congrats to everyone who will be joining me on this journey:chrs:, and good luck to all of you who aren't for next year. Don't give up, because it can be done!
