Congratulations to all of you who got in. I will see you at orientation and perhaps get to know some of you in classes in the future. Quick question for those of you who have already started/completed the program. I still need to take micro and was considering to request to start in Jan. Is it too hard of a class to take and start in October? I want to do well. Just curious. Thanks!

I suggest taking micro by itself and starting the nursing program in January. The nursing classes may only be 1-2 credit hours each, but they are very time consuming. Several of my classmates that started in August were doing micro at the same time...it can be done, but one of them failed 1600's. I'm not saying that it was because of taking micro too, but it certainly couldn't have helped.

I don't think Micro is that hard myself. I'm actually taking it along side Bouwman's A&P and doing well in both. However, the professor that I have is retiring after this semester so who knows if you could get into another one that is this easy.

I got my acceptance letter today and I'm so excited to start taking my Nursing classes.

Greetings and salutations! Letter came, news was good, there was much rejoicing in the household! To comment on the micro question, I took it on it's own but knew of one person in my class who was taking it along with the "program". She dropped out a quarter of the way thru, read into that what you will. Also try to get The Hoff(man) if you can for micro, he was super! Godspeed to you all and see you in the Fall (or sometime after!).

Hoffman is my current professor, this will be his last semester, he is retiring. Too bad because I'd totally recommend him to everybody, like I said it's really not hard but I've heard other professor are really hard.

There's hope out there for those without a 4.0

Congrats! I went today to pay my $100 and accept my acceptance and stopped by enrollment to see if they would tell me my ranking but they didn't have that info input yet and the lady with it was not there so they told me to stop back later this week. I was just curious!

I'm going to go in and pay tomorrow, I'm curious if they will have the ranking info ready. By the way szyman27, I also got in without a 4.0. I had a 3.95 and a 92 on the HESI. Those horror stories about people not getting accepted really kept me on edge until I got my letter! You have to realize though, many people exaggerate their grades when they tell you they did not get accepted. Any counselor will tell you this. I don't know if it's because they are embarrassed of their original grades or if their bitter but many people do it.

I wonder what the lowest Hesi score was. I was not accepted and got my ranking. My GPA was 4.0 and my Hesi was 81. I ranked 345. I knew I wouldn't get in because of the low Hesi score, but I thought I would have ranked a little higher because of the GPA. Oh Well.
