LPN IV certification

I am confused about LPN's IV certification. I guess my main question is what all is covered. I take care of a 6 year old who is on TPN through a Broviac. His mother wants only RNS to care for him but if I can explain to her exactly what the certification covers she might be satisfied. Can anybody help me. There are not enough RNS willing to do home care and we need the help.
