Looking Metro Detroit area RNs lnterested in precepting student

Hello,
I am a nursing student looking for a RN who has a serious interest in precepting me for my clinical rotations. I am only interested in serious inquires. I am not interested in negative comments. I truly believe that there has to be someone out there that enjoys to teach and help others to become part of a wonderful profession. I will pm details to those interested. Thank you. Colleen

You are going to have serious problems finding someone. First the responsibility that they take on, you are under their license........your school does not have a nursing license. No pay for the preceptor............but alot of extra work...... plus you would need to get permission from the facility where they are employed to be able to do this, you cannot just pick any facility that you want. This is definitely not going to be as easy as you think.

I have been teaching and precepting for years, and in no way would I ever consider doing this. There are just way too many issues with it. First, and foremost, it is your school's responsibility for finding you clinical rotations, as well as paying a nursing instructor for you........this is what you are paying them tuition for.

In case you did not bother to really read my post; Serious inquiries only! I am fully aware of how you feel. I believe many of us students in alternative education programs on these boards already know how you feel. There is no need for your negative commentary. I really do not care what you think, I will succeed and it will be by the sheer belief in myself and the unstoppable passion that drives me everyday to be a nurse.
