Looking for Contemporary Nutrition updated 6th ed. and Nutricalc

Does anyone who lives in SE michigan have this book AND/OR the Nutricalc program that they may be able to sell to me cheap? I'm about to buy one used on Amazon, but before I do, I wanted to see if someone had it around here that wanted to get rid of it. I need that nutricalc program as well, but can buy one or both from you.

Help a new nursing student out! If this wasn't the place for this thread, I apologize.

PM me if anyone can help out, without me having to order online. I will order by next week if I do not hear anything.

It's for the Nutrition in Nursing course at Oakland Univ this summer. Thanks.

Dave

PS. I'd also be looking for books for the Bio 155 from WCCCD and Intro to Psych (101) at WCCCD, as i'm taking both of those too, but not sure what books they need.

She won't have an answer. I am disputing the Philosophy requirement. I have to fill out a form to challenge it. I took 2 Social Science courses that were all philosophy at Lawrence Tech, but she said no. So I'm challenging them. The course descriptions start out, "Concentration in the philosophy..." I mean come on.

This is what ****** me off the most about colleges. Common sense tells you the class should transfer, but some highly paid jackass up in management didn't agree so now people have to spend more money. It's all about the money, never let schools fool you into thinking otherwise.

Only half of our tests came from that book. The other half was based on notes our professor provided that were specifically related to the impact of nutrition in regards to nursing issues. We also had a care-plan assignment. Unless your class covered all of the above material, OU will likely not accept it.

Thank you for the info. i actually am in communication with the sch. about the class. i received a form to fill for the course equiv evaluation. it should be okey either way, it wasn't a class i spend lots of time on and managed an easy A. i enjoyed the nutr. calc part most as we had to evaluate our own eating habbits. the prof went a step further and had us do a dental assignment i guess for the dental hygiene students and not everyone was too pleased.

Firehawk-

Is this book for Dr Ambrosa's class? If so he changed the book! I emailed him requesting the book info and sylabus and he sent me an email stating the book store did not have the volume of texts he needs so he changed the book!

Hope that helps

Yeah I emailed him about it too. It's kind of silly considering I have no idea why anyone would ever buy a book from a school bookstore since they're marked up 100% or whatever. Who cares, there's tons of them available on Amazon alone...

Oh well.
