I was wondering, are most hospitals in SE Michigan unionized?

I'd say yes...I work at Genesys, and we are unionized as are most of the ones in our area.

U of M - Ann Arbor is unionized, Oakwood, Henry Ford, St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor/Ypsi are not.
