Plus, if you know you're gonna want the bachelor's eventually anyway, I think it's a better use of your time, KWIM?
This is what I have been considering too. I don't know how many people are wanting to go directly to a bachelor's program though. I know everyone and their brother is going the associate degree route so they can spend as little time in school as possible before making money. Many don't want to be in school for 4 years without having a job (unless they go part time or something). But who knows anymore. I figure I'll be on my death bed by the time I get into a nursing school. Everyone and every thing has been blocking me lately.

Have you spent much time in HFCC's learning lab? I heard that they have a lot of really good resources to help students do well on the NET, so definitely take advantage of them if you can! Are you having trouble with the math or the reading?

Bubbles2004, this link is for the NET practice tests for HFCC. I suggest you spend some time reviewing. You should pass with no problem if you do. Good luck to you. Oh - and I hate the NET test too.

the first time i took it i got like an 86 in reading and a 63 in math...so i was 2% off in math to pass which really sucked bc i had a composite of like a 73 on the entire test.

im taking the test for the last time 2morrow...
the thing is ...i know all the information on the test....i did good on the test except 1 section, which blows my mind bc i got 100% on it previous....like 2 wks b4 that ....

its just hard to believe i got 75% less in that subject ...
frustrating.

Hi there everyone...

Right now, I feel like all of my energy has been drained out after reading this letter that I've just received from HFCC today saying that I may have to wait for 2 years or more. =( Bummer... I was in the waiting list last Oct 2008. I don't know what to do right now. I'm disappointed. I need some encouragement.

Thanks. Have a blessed day to all.

I got the same love letter from them. I went to see (moderator edit of names/initials) and they said I might make the Jan '10 start depending on how many they decide to allow in (they'll know in a couple of weeks); and I was put on the list in late Aug. of '08. So, if I don't make it and have to wait until Fall of '10, I'll be among the first people to actually wait two full years on the list at HFCC. Grrrrrr.......

I got an update today (8/10). She said they will admit 120 in January, and will also be starting a new May entry (unknown how many people). I'm 114 on the list, so I should be invited for Jan. (whew!). Hope this helps anyone else on the list.

Hey everyone.

BIG NEWS!!!

Okay, I've been in and out of the office since I've got the letter stating they have extended their waiting list. I have never been given false hope, but rather say some estimate number of admissions for the nursing program. Finally, just yesterday... I got the definite number of students for the Fall and Spring batch of 2010.

This is their definite decision for the winter and spring batch: they'll be admitting 40 for this winter of 2010 and 80 for the Spring of 2010. I'll be called for the Fall of 2010. Yipee!!!
