Hi

I have been on the list since July 1, 2008. My NET WAS Feb 28 2008, but I could not go on the list until all my classes transferred in. As of June 10, 2009, I did not make the fall list. I was told by (moderator edit of name) this is unusual this year. 252 invites went out to students on the list by June 26, 2008 and only 30 people turned down the invite. I missed fall by 17 people. I will get in in the winter. She also said because of the economy students are not deferring their start date. And the wait list will increase to two-three years. I just made it in under the wire for the winter. Good luck to ALL.

Hi there! I was just wondering if there is an actual application that needs to be filled out to be put on the wait list or do I just tell (moderator edit of name) to put me on the wait list?

Yes ask (moderator edit of names). Once you pass the net on the same day go to either ladies and request to complete an application. They will not put you on the wait list until all grades are submitted, and/or transfer grades if any are received. Also, you must be in your last semester of pre-reqs and co-reqs.

Hope this helps! Good Luck! Hope you will not have to wait over 18 months.

So if I take the NET this fall and get on the wait list, I'm looking at a start date sometime in 2012?

I just spoke to (moderator edit of name) today and she said the same thing. She seemed like she was bummed right along there with me, especially since just a few months ago she said 12-18 months was the wait.

I asked her if 3 years was the longest one would have to wait, and she said that she couldn't say because she doesn't know when/if it will change again. Isn't it great throwing your future into fate?

Seriously, if it takes three years on a waiting list, why not just apply for a BSN program somewhere and go with that? I'd be darned it I would wait that long without something to show for it, you know?

I was told some of the BSN programs also have 3 year waiting lists.so you're pretty much screwed either way.

Yeah, except that when you're on a three-year wait list for a BSN, you can be working on all your other classes and ending up with a four-year degree when you're done, rather than a two-year degree.

Plus, if you know you're gonna want the bachelor's eventually anyway, I think it's a better use of your time, KWIM?

i am going to start applying at other schools including madonna. with the year of prereqs it took to get on the list, plus the wait, it is going to take 5 years to get a 2 year degree. i still want to wait on HFCC but im going to throw my net (no pun) out there and see where else i can get in.
