RRe: HfCC waiting listI was placed on the list in late Aug. '08, and was told by (moderator edit of name/initials) that I was in line for Jan '10, but that I MAY get a late invitation to Fall '09. I know the first-round invitations for Fall '09 just went out, and as expected I did not get one. Hopefully a few will decline and I will get in for the fall start! Either way, I was told I would graduate in May of '11. There's no break for those that start in January!

Jim E:

Wow what a difference. A lady in my lifespan development class took her NET Feb08. She was invited to the spring semester 09 (the one usually reserved for Henry Ford Hospital Workers), She was originally told that she would be starting Fall09. Maybe you will get in for January...if not they may take you for the spring10 if no Henry ford employees are interested

Thanks for the encouragement! I have all of the supporting classes out of the way now; just NSG classes left, so as you can imagine I'm not interested in sitting around waiting! I just want to "get the show on the road".

Just remember to stay out on the road once your show starts playing!! The real trick is staying in nursing school once you are accepted and begin. Remembering how much you wanted to get in will help keep you motivated in keeping your spot - don't ever forget this anxious feeling!

HFCC's faculty is extremely supportive, and once you are in, you'll have lots of resources there, both in the facilities and the people who will become your instructors. It's a great ride. I hope you get in sooner than later!

Hi there. =) May I ask when you were put on the waiting list, please? I'm hoping that I'll get invited that soon, too. Hopefully. *sigh* I'll be waiting for your response. Thanks.

I was put on the list on Nov. 5th 07', and recieved my letter in the very last set (the end of July)for the fall semester of 08'; I think we were lucky though because there were some people that had just got on the wait list in Jan. and were in my group! I also had all my prereqs' done at that point.
Good luck and hang on it will come before you know it! Dont go out of your mind and enjoy the time you have now.

Thank you very much. I truly appreciate it. I'm done with all of my pre-reqs right now. Just waiting to be invited. :urgycld:

Heart Broken Re: HfCC waiting list
I talked to (moderator edit of name) today, and got the 24 months-long wait list information for HFCC. That was soooo disheartening for me, and super frustrating. I have some classes to take so that I can apply them towards a BSN, but not 2 years worth. I also have to make sure I keep the credit limit for FA in mind too. I'm going to be calling around to other schools tomorrow to try and see if I can somehow enter someone's program quicker. I just really had my heart set on HFCC.

I would keep HFCC in mind they have a MUCH larger class size so the wait tends to be shorter and they have to give the longest wait possible as to not have people banging thier door down saying "but you said" I was told 18 months and only waited 7.5!
Good luck.

What ever you do... make sure that you only need to complete the Nursing courses when you are in the program. It is VERY demanding of your time. When you have about a year of your pre-requests remaining take the NET and that places you on the "wait list" as long as you have the GPA to reflect it.

Just an update for those (like me) on the HFCC wait list. I have been on the list since Aug 29, 2008, and went to see (moderator edit of names/initials) for an update. They said another round of fall '09 invitations are going out next week and that will include people who were placed on the list prior to the end of June '08. They seemed to think it wasn't out of the question that I might be invited in the last round, but of course it just depends on how many decline. Worst case scenario is a Jan. '10 start. Oh well, at least I can stop leaping out the window everytime the mail truck comes by.
