You can find out the test dates by looking in the class schedule, and register for it as if you are registering for a class. The test is offered very regularly. It is given in the computer lab of the Health Careers Center, a newer facility located in the center of the campus. Results are given immediately!

Thank you everyone for your quick replies! I haven't been accepted yet to the college, but I am sure I will get in. Just waiting for the letter, so I will sign up to take the NET ASAP.

Do they have fall and spring nursing programs or just fall? If they invite you before you have your pre-reqs done, can you postpone the invite until you have completed them?

I'm glad to know you didn't wait too long If I don't make it into either of the two schools, HFCC is where I'll be!

The have fall and winter entry. fall is a bigger entry, but they just started a nights/ weekends program in the winter so it brought in an additional 40 students.( I am in this one and love it) And yes you can defer at least once, not sure if you can defer 2x, but even if you go part time you should have enough time to complete the classes before you get in. most are avaliable online also so that helps not having to drive there as much.

I just talked to (moderator edit of name) this afternoon. She says the waitlist at HFCC has expanded sudenly and now as of today there is at a minimum 18 to 24months wait to enter the nursing program. She says there are not a lot of students dropping out or failing courses so the getting in on the 1.5 yr mark is wishful thinking. i was told think 24months to get in.

Wow. Just wow.

Just thinking of the larger statement that this makes about our economy right now, people losing their jobs, the nursing profession and its future, how fast HFCC and other nursing schools are changing to meet this need - it boggles the mind.

I was placed on the list in late Aug. '08, and was told by (moderator edit of name/initials) that I was in line for Jan '10, but that I MAY get a late invitation to Fall '09. I know the first-round invitations for Fall '09 just went out, and as expected I did not get one. Hopefully a few will decline and I will get in for the fall start! Either way, I was told I would graduate in May of '11. There's no break for those that start in January!

That depends on what program your in in the winter. they just started the nights/weekend one and you get the summers off so you grad. at the end of the fall semester. I started in jan '09 i'll grad fall '10.

Jim,

I received my invitation letter in mid-June, so you are far from out of the running yet for this year. Good luck. HFCC is worth the wait.
