I'm still waiting. I was told probably winter semester. so thats why i say take prereqs first and focus on those then do the others. Because now I'm waiting and taking a bunch of classes that really don't count well except for a BA

my first semester there the counselor set me up with 15 or 16 credit hours also, mon-friday 9-5, it was terrible, but i was fresh out of highschool and didnt know any better. i didnt have to take any math or chemistry classes because i met the equivalency from my highschool grades. BEFORE you start the program you have to take:
psych 131
english 131 and 132
political sci OR survey of social sciences (i recommend the latter)
sociology 131
A&P which is BIO 233 and 234
ur health elective things which i recommend nutrition, instead of 2 gym classes
psych 253 - life span development
and an up to date BLS cpr card (offered as a two day class 1/4 credit)
and i believe thats it for the REQUIRED pre reqs, but i HIGHLY recommend taking
NSG 095 - med dosing calcuations
AH 120 - pharmacology
NSG 285 - pathophysiology

Theres two major tests in ur first semester, pharmacology and med dose calculations that are PASS/FAIL, unrelated to ur class grade, and u get 2 or 3 tries to pass them but if u don't your OUT of the program, i found out the hard way, and in order to remediate to get back in the next year they'll make you take those classes anyways, so i STRONGLY recommend taking them, not to mention it will make your life easier in the program. I applied for the program during my first semester in college and I took my NET test after the first year of pre reqs and was accepted to the program during my second year of pre reqs so i started the program my third year into college. I didnt have anyone tell me the right things to do or right classes to take so i really struggled and ended up on the six year plan at a two year school lol, THATS expensive! so i hope you take some advice from someone who has had to learn everything about that program the hard way, i hope it helps prepare you and good luck!

So I dropped my sociology and I enrolled for Math 080 so I can take my chemistry next semester. I hope I'm on the right path now.

Christy, the counselor told me I wouldn't need math or chemistry either because I met the requirements also through my high school grades and my compass grade but everyone is telling me now that they're both required in order to get into the program.

If you go talk to either loraine or michelle in the counseling office, but the health careers part they will guide you. they are not the actual normal counselors. they deal ony with the health careers and will answer all your questions.

I spoke to Michelle this morning and turns out, I don't need to take the math class since I tested out of it already and it's not required for the NET. I already dropped my sociology and enrolled for math and now I will have to drop math and find something else to enroll in. Mostly all classes are full now so I will have to find something else to take...any suggestions?
