HFCC - Patho

Hi all, how hard is pathophysiology at HFCC. I'm all out of pre reqs to take and was thinking about signing up for it. Would you recommend this class before hand, or should I bother at all. Oh, exactly what is it, and what are the tests like?

I haven't taken it. I am in my second year at HFCC (nursing program) and have had no need of it thus far. They make readmit students take it, but there are a lot of classes that they say are "good to have" like Critical Care, and Patho, and Supplemental, that really are not necessary in the actual program. If I were you, I would look into the BSN programs (if you're interested in pursing that route) and find out what you would need for that, so you're not wasting time and money. You may also want to actually talk to the schools you're considering to find out whether you want to take the classes on their campus (some have minimum credit requirements for you to get your degree there). Just a thought.

I took it during the summer, while I was waiting to be admitted. The tests are like the tests in the nursing program. If you dont know med. term I would not suggest it. I was behind everyone else just for the reason of most of them being in the program already. I feel it helped me so far though. you will cover the material again in class. Some things I have caught on faster just because I remember going over it in patho. the above post mentioned supplemental....there has to be so many registered for supplemental and this semester there wasn't so we couldnt do it. if you have nothing else I would take it, and be prepared to read, read, and just when you think you cant anymore...read.

You have to have all the prereqs done, and get on the waitlist. It is currently from what I've heard 2-3 years long.
