Henry Ford Hospital has a RN-BSN onsite program!

by rn2bn07

Just found out that Henry Ford Hospital has an on-site, one day a week BSN program through U of D of Mercy! They offer loan forgiveness, up to $14,000 with a committment of three years with the Henry ford system. They also offer 3,000 for tuition reimbursement a year! They also have a MSN program onsite as well. I am really loving Henry Ford right now. Oh yeah, the hospital isn't so bad either. It's actually better than any hospital I have been to. Great retirement pension plans and extra incentives for midnight nurses.

Well that's all I know, got to go, bye

Do you have to commit for three years for the BSN or only for the loan forgiveness?
Thanks for the information. That's great. I was leaning toward Henry Ford already.

Tuition is paid by HFHS directly to UDM on behalf of student/employee for all on-site classes in exchange for 3-year work commitment (full time) upon completion of Bachelor's degree. Length of program is 32 months.

A few of the nurses I work with are in that program. It's expensive but covered I believe by HFH. I'm at OU right now for my BSN. I'd leave for U of D except I'd rather take online classes. I will definately use their tuition reimbursement for my masters. It was a deciding factor for me to leave Beaumont. HFH offers more for tuition reimbursement. HFH is a great teaching hospital. There is a lot to see and learn and I will never consider going elsewhere.

I absolutely love it. The doctors are better and much nicer. I have some of the top surgeons asking me for my opinions on how to treat my patients. I would have never had that at Beaumont and never did. It's a very collaborative environment. The docs actually care about what you think.

I heard so you can confirm this, does the BSN program start only every 3 years? I heard you go through it with the same group of nurses. I heard this so I was curious. Thanks!

I am not really sure, but my orientation is in October and I will be able to find out then. That's a good question, though. I would think, probably so. Due to the fact that there are only so few instructors to teach on site at the hospital.

I believe most of the health care systems in the area have this type of program. I know for sure that oakwood has the same deal. They are afiliated with U of D as well. I dont know all the details of the Oakwood program (tuition, commitments, etc) but it is one day a week and takes three years.

Does this hospital have a loan forgiveness progam? I think in some hospitals will pay all the tuition if they work for that hospital about a year. What if this hospital pays all the tutition and during the those 3 years something comes up and a person have to move to another state or there is a better position with better offer? Are they going to cancel the contract and the tuition payment?

Do you have to apply for this program at U of D or at Henry ford hospital?
