Help: How Can A New Grad Get Into Surgical?

I am wondering about this - it is very crucial to me to get into surgical right as soon as I get certified as an RN. I see that most positions require a year experience for SICU or CVICU, which is even more ideal. What are the best Detroit area hospitals to work at to get into Surgical quick, and how quick can it happen?

Thanks to all for their insight!!

The sicu where I work does not hire new grads unless they have been an extern in the SICU prior to graduating. Try Beaumont or St. Johns.
