Graduate nurse decisions

Hi Everyone,

I am going to be graduating in December with my BSN and I am having a difficult time deciding which type of unit to work on and which hospital is a good choice to get started at. I am in the Southeastern MI. I have applied at St. John Providence, Providence Park Novi, HFHS, Beaumont, Oakwood but am really open to anywhere.

I am not sure if it is best to get started on a general medical/med-surg unit or something more specific if you know what you want. I am extremely interested in L&D but do not want to get "stuck" there if I decide down the road it is not the best for me.

Also- does anyone have any input on which hospitals in the area have good graduate nurse programs to make a smooth transition from student to RN?

Thanks so much for any input!
