First Job Nursing Home

I'm in NW Ohio, and am planning to get my LPN license in Michigan. Although most of my classmates make it seem like nursing homes are always hiring, I'm not so sure. I know that hospitals are cutting back, but are nursing homes still hiring in SE Michigan? My boyfriend lives in Mich, and I'd like to relocate, but first want to establish my first job and keep that my priority. Thanks in advance for any input.
