Re: Davenport
Unfortunately it is very expensive, I believe 420.00 a credit hour, compared to HFCC which is like 130.00 a credit hour. It is more expensive because it is a private university, and is the only University in Michigan that offers the nursing program part time. It also accepts more ways of payment, financial aid, pell grants, tons of scholarships. It is geared toward the working person more so then high school graduates, and the instructors pretty much work a day job and teach in the evening so they understand the stress. I think the first nursing class will be graduating either in 2007 or 2008. They are extremely flexible with fitting the classes in with your work schedule.
Getting in the nursing program is based on many things, I know of one student that failed the HESI, but was still accepted because of her grades and essay. I am attending the main Dearborn campus, but they will be closing that one effective fall of 08 to build a state of the art campus with focus on the nursing program. The nursing advisors are fantastic and very motivational. Once you are accepted into the the program and start your clinicals, you can do those part time if need be. They understand that people just can't quit and go to school. It's a very mature atmosphere and the comadre is great. I have my A&P 1 and 2 left along with intermediate algebra, oh and professional ettiquete..if you have any other questions or want to email me directly for more information, just let me know.
