I don't know if there are any RN positions available, but I have visited the Keeweenaw Penninsula in Michigan (very beautiful) and thought about researching a job there myself. I can tell you that the cities these hospitals are located in are not large so the hospitals are probably quite small. Portage View Hospital is in the Houghton-Hancock area and Keeweenaw Memorial is in, I think, Laurium? I think there are a couple more in the area....Marquette General & Dickenson Memorial.

Any particular area of nursing you are looking for?

Not sure about the hospitals you mentioned. If you do not need to go into the UP there is also a hospital in Cheboygan - 15 miles south of Machinaw. It has expanded recently so may be worth checking out if you want to get in the general area of Up North MI. Also, did you consider just taking a trip up there to check it out in person? - with a resume of course There's a great B&B I stayed at called Larium Manner and others in the area. I've also noticed that sometimes they are just on a slower time frame than we are in the more southerly part of MI. Perhaps it's just taking them longer.

The hospital in Hancock Mi I have been told has 25 regular bed, probably 8 of them full at a time. They also have nursing home attached, but jobs there are very scarce. Even if you get one, if they are slow your hours may be cut. Best of luck to you.
