Call me silly, but I'll be remembering what a current WCCCD nursing student told me immediately after getting accepted. As we wait for those acceptance letters, try not to focus so much on the GPA. It'll drive us mad. Instead, focus on your letter grades...doesn't make things perfect but she does have a point.

For example:
I could sit and wonder how many people also have a 3.78, how many are higher, lower, etc. Freaking out over the decimal point, remembering how many faces I saw in the auditorium.
Isn't perfect, but a tad easier to deal with when thinking...I have one B and the rest are A's. There are only two scenarios beating that. All A's, OR one B in a 3-credit hour course (my B is in a 4hr course) with A's in the other four classes.
When thinking this way, you not as self-critical over that B grade!

It comes down to our being proud of ourselves for making it this far, and earning the grades necessary for an EXTREMELY competitive program!

Whoohoo - I don't know about anyone else, but I'm so glad that the application meeting is behind me!

Regards,
Teresa
I love your way of thinking. I think we all need to have this attitude!!

Sharazed, have you attended an information meeting yet? If not, you will need to attend one and receive a voucher saying that you were there. You will also learn about everything you need to bring with you to the application meeting.

I will be applying in Aug app deadline and Jan. class. currently attending micro and math. should i bring the wcccd transcripts to the meeting? I am already freaking out and i haven't even done the app or the net. I like to keep everything in order and no loose ends. I contacted the Nursing dept and they told me to follow the criteria on the nursing requirements... Also for the reference letters--do they have to be on wcccd letterhead or private? Sorry lots of question. Thank you for all the info.

Sharazed says:
How long will the NET be? (time wise)(all the same day or ??)
Will the Nursing dept recieve the results first?
Will the NET scores be on my record with the Dept of Education?

Was it difficult and how hard was the math? (don't like math to much)

Oh my god i have so many questions and i can't think...its like having a brain meltdown.
I guess anxiety gets the best of us all

Thanx

The Net test is given all on the same day and takes about 4 hours depending on how soon they start the test and other factors.

No, the nursing department does not receive your test scores. ERI sends your results directly to you and you must provide a copy of them with your application to the nursing department.

[quote]Will the NET scores be on my record with the Dept of Education?[/qoute] I have no idea. If you mean like GED scores are kept at the DoE then I would have to say the answer is no. ERI scores your test and then sends you the results.

I didn't think the math was hard at all, however, I tend to favor math a bit. Learn fractions, decimals, percentages, and how to convert between them, and some basic algebra like solving for n.....n+5=2 find n....there were a few more indepth algebra problems but they still weren't that difficult. Personally, I found the reading portion more challenging because of the time restraints. There just didn't seem like enough time to finish everything.

LOL I completely understand. Take your time and ask questions when you think of them. We are all going to be here at some point or another to answer them. LOL PM me if you think of anymore questions.

Good luck!!!!!

Hi Ladies,
One thing i forgot to ask...
Do i have to get the NET results before the application meeting?
Hope not.

Thanks for all the info.
It really helps out to know that someone else knows how things
work. The counselors don't really give the information in detail.
The nursing secretary just tells you to read the criteria and it don't
really specify.
