Anyone taken Statistics?

by espo44

I need to take statistics and I HATE algebra. Will I fail Statistics? I haven't dealt with Stats in YEARS and I don't remember what is involved. Ugh.
Anyone?

I took stats. I hated It and I had one of the "easier" teachers. The teacher was good but she was too fast. It was the only class in college that I went and used the free tutors. I still got a C but I'm sure I would have failed without my tutor.

Hi!

I took stats many years ago and found it interesting and enjoyable because it can help you to better understand research reports and the like.

I think it all comes down to knowing how you learn best and finding resources that work for you.
(I've often found that I learn better from materials other than the ones officially used in a course.) For example, you might consider getting a Standard Deviants DVD, if you're a visual learner. Alternatively, you might try the ALEKS online tutorial system or Hippocampus's free online course, if you learn best by performance or "doing."

Don't let stats get you down. Find a resource that presents the material in a way that resonates with you and attack it head on. Make it fun, make it relevant, and it won't be so bad.

Best of luck!

Thanks soooo much for posting that link! Im in stats right now and its past midterm and Im barely making it w/a C. But hopefully this site can help me...the professor goes really fast and its hard to keep up and on top of that she's foreign and sometimes I have a hard time understanding what she's saying. And the textbook is no help at all, a serious waste of over $100. I really hope this site helps me understand better though so that I can get out of the class with atleast a B.

Thanks a bunch!

I took statistics and I still dont understand it I got a B in the class though ...If you have an instructor that understands that it is hard material and works with you then it is very passable...Like I said I got a B ...Good luck.
