I have a friend who went there for radiology and she kept getting passed up for her program and the school kept suggesting extra classed and retaking classes that she had a b in to raise it to a's. To make a long story short she was trapped because many community colleges would not accept baker creits because their semesters are 10 weeks and many cc's are 15 weeks. Macomb has no wait list because they go by your gpa for past 12 credits that are transferable to them and also how well you do on the HESI exam which is like the NET exam. They rank you by 50% gpa of recent 12cr and 50% of HESI score. Also, many preqs are not required to be completed before entry into program except for A/P.

Ditto. I've been at MCC since Winter of '05 and am starting the RN program in October. I HIGHLY recommend Macomb over many schools in the area. I attended OU after graduating HS 10 years ago and have found that my experience at MCC so far has been much more positive. Smaller classes, caring/helpfull instructors etc... As for the pre-req's A/P, Comp I&II, Intro to Psych, Nutrition, comparative religion (or ethics, not sure if it has to be completed before start of program) and micro (doesn't have to be completed before start of program but they do recommend it). Plus their success rate is quite high.. 96% of graduates go on and pass the NCLEX first try..(we were informed of this stat at orientation) and everyone I've talked to has not said one bad thing about MCC's program, so how could you lose? Good luck to you in your decision!
