Try searching Indian River...I know there are alot of cabin rentals in that area, and it is awesome up there!

There are some nice cabins here on Tawas Bay/ Lake Huron. I hear there is a nice water park (may be indoors??) up in Traverse City.

Hey there is alot to do over in Battle Creek too, where the Kelloggs company is. A indoor water park with a variety of other activities and several museums...just look it up online. Hope this helps.

I think the new indoor amusement park near Traverse City is Wolf Park or something like that.
Also lots of cabins around L'Anse and Sault Sainte Marie - it's fall color time, but it can get cold so be prepared.
Also, Indian River area.

askater11, are you talking about winter or summer?

We stayed at some cabins by Oscoda (Fishtales) in September and it was great! Right on Lake Huron, and lots for kids to do. They even had kayaks for the bigger people to take out. It was really fun. Winter's a little trickier, we've never taken an up north wintertime vacation.

Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City is a nice place. There is also a nice State RV park with a beach on Traverse Bay but you have to cross a skywalk to get to the beach.
Also check out Boyne Mountain Lodge in Boyne City, MI. They have a fabulous indoor waterpark, great hotel, excellant restaurants, and shopping. Plus the beaches in Little Traverse Bay, Walloon Lake, and Petoskey State Park are all within 25 minutes drive-very central. There is tons to do for all ages!
