Advice please!! About WCCCD

Hello all... I am a transfer student from Baker to WCCCD this semester. However, I attended WCCCD in 1997, I took 6 credit hours, 3 of which I passed. (young and dumb)... I took around 60 credits at Baker before I transferrred. I have already sent in the form for my transcripts to be evaluated.. I currently am taking 7 credit hours, and I enrolled for 3 credit hours in the summer (semester ending 7/30). My questions are...1. How long do they usually take to evaluate transcripts? I can't sign up for patho or nutrition b/c acc to Wcccd I haven't taken the pre-reqs. 2. I've gotten mixed answers to this question and I'm hoping someone has had experience with it.. If I took 6 credit hours in '97, and only passed 3, do they count that as 6 still? B/c of the whole 12 credit hour thing now, I'm wondering if I can expect to apply for the January program. I know you have to apply by August 1st for January, how would that work with my psych class ending on July 30th? Is that enough time? Thanks so much for listening to me ramble. Sorry for all the questions, I just really feel lost right now! Thank you in advance.. Melissa

Melissa,

This is how I understood it. To have your transcripts evaluated for Fall entry they had to be submitted by April 1st and then you needed to get that hurry up form. For Spring 09 entry, you will need to complete 12 credit hours at WCCCD and submit your transcripts BEFORE August 1st (which is the deadline to submit your transcripts for the nursing program) in order for them to evaluate them. I am not sure how they will consider the 3 passed, 3 failed credit hours at WCCCD. The best thing you can do is if you have already attended an information meeting, call and make an appointment with the nursing advisor (sorry I can't remember her name) and see what she has to say.

I hope this helps you a little bit!
