A&p @ Hfcc

by Grayten

Hi everyone,

I have to take the pre-req BIO 131, and than A&P 1&2.

I have heard that the A&P classes are very hard.

I graduated with my business degree with a 3.8, and I find Anatomy very interesting.

I also am not working, so I can devote all of my time to the class.

With that being said, should I be able to pass it if I study a lot?

I don't know why, but the A&P classes have me completely rattled, and doubting my abillity.

Thanks,

Grayten

I took my AP classes at Schoolcraft. They are completely do-able! I think the classes among the colleges are pretty standardized around here. You can absolutely pass - and do very well - if you apply yourself. It is a lot of material and a lot of memorization, so you really need to put in the time.

I don't know about the instructors at HFCC, but my prof. was very good, fair, I learned a lot and got a good grade. (I thought it was also a lot of fun!) And I was very nervous about going "back" to school after many years and starting with a hard class, too.

Check out the Ratemyprofessor.com site for info on HFCC instructors.

Good luck!

Thank you for the encouraging words.

I feel better now.

I am very excited to get started, I'm just really nervous as well.

Oh you will have no problem! They are hard, but it sounds like you will be able to devote alot of study time to them.

Definitely look on ratemyprofessor.com!

You will do great! Good luck!

Community college A&P is usually not that bad . I got a 95 in the class (at MCC), not working outside the home, but I do have four little ones.

Thanks everyone.

I was nervous because the counselor at the school put the fear of God in me about the class, then I started reading the A & P Club thread on this forum, and read how miserable everyone was toward the end.

One woman said that they started off the class with like 30 people and were down to 17 or so at the end, and most were failing.

Yikes!

I would be scared too if I had been told those stats. Can you take the class at any college? Macomb really dumbs it down for you (to a certain degree), I mean the professors don't expect you to know everything that is in the texts, they pick and choose what they feel applies to the nursing program (and other health related programs at the college).

Hi Grayten-

I just pm you. It is true that the class is half empty by the end of the semester. But I'm sure you will do fine. Good luck!
