As of like 2 years ago the nation avg or male nurses was 5%. I am thinking it is probably getting closer to 10 though from hearing numbers of males in nursing school. I have my first orientation for nursing school on the 22nd Ill try and remember to relay how many guys out of 55 we have. I know at least 1, yay me.

I have always loved this poster. It actually reminds me of some of the guys that I work with.

I AM MAN ENOUGH! I made the decision to go after a nursing career recently. I am ex-football player, IT Sales and Recruiting guy and I am gettting a good amount of grief from the guys I used to hang with. They too have the image of a nurse in a white uniform, a little hat and a mean disposition. What they don't realize is that I am a father of three little girls which has helped me to handle darn near any situation, and I am quite comfortable with my place in my upcoming profession. I am only a pre-nursing student right now, but I will make one hell of a nurse when I get there, and I WILL get there!

Hey Bill,

Your buddies are just jealous that you can kick there butt, yet have the compassion & composure to help mend them back to health after the fact.

YEP, I love being a male nurse. The best thing about it is all the women, except about 1 week a month. I swear to God I have developed my own cycle. And dont hate on this post because you know it is true!!!!
