Hey, hey hey...
It is people like me, who tolerate people like you, who have no sense of humor... *sigh*...
Do you REALLY think I'm sitting about, rubbing my hands together, anticipating the day I'm going to grab some male nurse's butt?
And I do think some male nurses are H-O-T-T. Can't help that.
Please, if I have offended, I apologize.
I just have a wicked sense of humor.

(I have also said, when I get old, I'm only going to eat my desserts, get so fat they need 4 people and a hoyer to move me and that I'm going to yell allllllllll night long-- but I'm not really serious about that either!)

You know, I was thinking, as I was re-reading this thread, about a male nurse friend of mine.
I used to work with him many years ago when he was in nursing school still. He was very gung-ho about becoming a nurse. I thought that was very cool. He was confident about it and I certainly didn't see him as any less of a man because of it.
Just a neat guy doing his thing.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with him again... but wow. He had an edge of bitterness I had never seen before. He made comments about how he had to do "testosterone-laden things" because he was a male nurse.
I felt bad for him. I didn't have the heart to ask him what was up with all the little comments, but, honestly, if a woman can't accept a perfectly smart, attractive, funny and decent guy just because he is a male nurse... BAH!
Their loss.

I got that you were joking, but didn't see how it contributed anything to the thread. You do know that if a male made a similar statement a thread about female nurses dozens of females would fry him to a crisp for making sexist statements.

Point taken, but for a dozen who would fry him to crisp, a dozen would not. Honest.
I would have to say, however, while such a bold statement would be shrugged off coming from a man, it is not always well-received from a woman.
Either way, I'll admit it was tacky to some (ok ok it was real tacky, lol) and I will again apologize.
I suppose we like to throw our comments in from time to time. I was just stating, in my own way, that I am a woman who finds certain male nurses attractive.
I thought that's what you guys were worried about!
Ok... I'll A B C my way out...

Disagree. You only got one negative, well two if you count mine, comments, and the mods let it all stand. While females might have shrugged it off, many more than two would have flamed and we would have closed the thread or deleted the comments and dinged the male. I know this, I've been around this forum for a while. I can predict how things go.

Anyway, no need for me to make a fuss or a mountain out of a molehill. You apologized, and I'm and old fuddy duddy gay man, what do I really care whose butts you pinch when you get old. LOL

So I couldn't help but throw my in. I have noticed that the majority of male nurses I have had the pleasure of working with have been very caring, compassionate, and intelligent. They are so easy to work with, non of the cattiness that you can tend to get from female nurses. I think that confident, intelligent and hard working male nurses are very attractive (even without taking into consideration looks...but I personally find intelligent men attractive). Any woman that thinks a male nurse is not manly obviously has no idea the types of things a nurse does on the job.

And they have no idea what 'manly' really means.

I guess my comment was a little harsh. The line came from Ferris Bueller, when they were trying to get a table in the fancy restaurant. The last part I made up though

humour is what keeps us going.. and our humour is in many ways unique..

and sometimes our humour does not work well in a medium such as the internet.

female nurses have been seen as sex objects for years- have you ever seen the carry on films?? we now have more men in nursing and yes.. some of you guys are fabulous looking.. but lusting after a co-worker is not good!

hmm wonder if they will ever make films as politically incorrect as the carry on films again! dont thinks so somehow... but if they do.. I hope they have nurses of both sexes in it!!
