Don't reckon I'll get many replies with this, but what the hell!

I just got into an RN program here, and during orientation the nursing director told me that they highly, highly recommend that everyone, even us guys, wear some kind of support stockings during clinicals and when we work.

Now, understand that I'm not by any stretch an insecure 'manly' guy. Most of my friends are girls, I cry at sad movies, i can talk about my feelings, etc etc. But when this woman told me something about wearing stockings, i just stared at the floor and thought...oh HELL NO.

So I did some research and apparently they really do keep from getting your legs sore and messed up. So is there anything that we guys can wear that I don't have to call stockings, but still actually work? Anything? Oh please help, lol.

call them Tedhoes. Keeps you from getting varicose veins. I don't wear them, but I see a lot of nurses who do. Even if you did wear them no one would probably notice anyways.

If you work at night as I do, I notice you do a lot more sitting than in days anyways, so you won't need them.

running tights should work the same way for support, worn under your work pants

There are certain things that men just don't do. Wearing stockings is about six of them. Underarmour support tights, or something like that. All of the support, none of the emasculation.

Interesting, I've actually never thought about wearing "pantyhose" before. But maybe something like the support tights might be useful. I'm not sure they would work for someone like me who has big legs from bodybuilding. My legs usually don't bother me anyway, its more my feet. But my knee does bother me sometimes for a couple days after squatting. I do like to wear long johns in the winter, but even x-large is very tight in the thighs and a little too long, due to the fact I'm only 5'8".

I've worn support socks a couple of times when my legs have ached after a day of hard work on the concrete floor, and they do make your legs less sore, but pantyhose i think not!!!
