Touche. In my defense though, most of the arrogant male chauvinists that I know are happily married. Its amusing irony. I often wonder about their home life... but I generally remain in the dark.

There are plenty of non-nursing folk on this nursing BB. There are plenty of USA nurses in the International forums, non-agency in the agency/travel forums. And as far as I know, no one required a genital check at the sign up.

I suggest that if a female nurse posted how she hated working with male nurses because they are :irrational, stupid, cheating, effeminate psychos, there would be plenty of males jumping in with comments. It is an open forum.

Your opinion is just that .....your opinion. Just as you have found (or sought out) examples that fit your opinion, I can point to plenty of examples that fit the above listed traits.

But the fact is you made the CHOICE to work in a female dominated profession - one has to wonder why. You know have to either deal or get out. And working around females when you hold such disparaging ideas about them, will be difficult.

(It would be interesting to know what your female coworkers think of you)

But seriously. I agree idiocy is very frustrating, and like you, I have very little patience with it. However, I think it's a bit unfair to paint all female nurses with the same brush. Petty and vindictive? I've dealt with my fair share of men that fit that description. I certainly don't make the assumption that ALL men are that way. I've worked with a few male RNs that aren't the shiniest stars in the sky, but I don't generalize that to include ALL male RNs. If your experience has been as you describe, that's really a shame.

Believe it or not I really can't stand some of the male nurses, a few of the one's I work with are flirts who are MARRIED, and yet still hit on the nurses...AND I constantly hear them make perverted comments.

I agree that some female nurses are catty and look for trouble and nit pick at ANYTHING just to gossip. I see so much too faced crap going on it's enough to vomit.
