by Bruce_Wayne Dec 28, '12Is there a good way to incorporate a tie with scrubs? I've been wearing scrubs for all of my adult life and I really hate them. I am really a fan of the tunic/smock style that male nurses in the UK wear and I saw at least one person rock the tunic with a bowtie while I was there. What do you guys think?

Even with standard dress clothes, bowties can make otherwise fairly normal people look like clowns. I admire your creativity, and I'm no fashion guru, but to me this just wouldn't work.
- Dec 31, '12 by juan de la cruzActually for me, bowties are a better alternative to a regular tie that dangles low and becomes a vector for transmitting infectious organisms. With that said, a scrub top over a dress shirt with a bowtie just seem odd. There are physicians who wear a bowtie with a dress shirt topped with a long white lab coat...it hasn't become a fad because not everyone can rock the look.Vishwamitr and AutoRotate like this.
- Dec 31, '12 by BrandonLPNI really like the idea of a collered tunic for male nurses, as I never liked the look of men wearing plunging v-neck scrub tops. But I'm at a loss as to why you'd want to wear a bow tie..... unless you want to be like a nurse version of Patch Adams from that Robin Williams movie.
- Jan 1 by eatmysoxRNWhen I read the title I pictured the strangest thing in my head... I wish I could draw it and show you guys. As for your question, I don't think that would look presentable unless all the other staff wore the same thing. I wish that I could wear jeans and fitted tees to work. I'd love it.
~ No One Can Make You Feel Inferior Without Your Consent -Eleanor Roosevelt ~ - Jan 1 by AutoRotateI thought this was a joke. Do people in this century wear tunics outside of Renaissance festivals?

This thread definitely needs some pictures. I can't judge without pictures.

This is what a male nurse's tunic shirt looks like. Like I said, I like the collar. And the "old school orderly" lapel thingie. I'm strongly considering ordering one or two of these....
