It seems as if Nurses are branching out into the world of coaching and helping others with weight loss, wellness and smoking cessation to name a few. Anybody got some info?

- Jan 7 by AnoetosQuote from dna_nurseI have not heard about this but in general, I am very interested in getting involved in men's health nursing (something beyond merely specializing in urology). I would like to hear more about this as it seems to have points of convergence with it.What has anybody heard about this area called RN Health Coaching?

Sounds like something I would do once I get my RN's...........Peace.

Sounds great, but don't get your hopes up. In the US, healthcare jobs are controlled by reimbursement. If insurers/payors do not see this as a value-added service worth paying for, those jobs will simply not exist. Despite all the big hoopla, nothing has ever really happened with "integrative medicine" as a whole. There is very little available funding in the US for preventative/wellness services of any kind. Maybe something that affluent people could pay for - like private trainers?
