Male Nursing Shoes?

Nurses Men

Published

Hey everybody, I'm a new CNA, and pre-nursing student working 40 hours on a med/surg floor in an extremely busy local hospital, and by the end of the day, my feet are killing me, no matter what sneaker I wear. I'm wondering about trying some of the nursing shoes available for men. Does anybody have any suggestions? Are those clogs comfortable at all? I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

well being the good nursing student that i am i did the conversion. boy was i surprised......1.97cm=0.775 inches tall and 135 kg=297lbs...... wow your height to weight ration puts your bmi at an extremely unhealthy 347622.9 (anything >30 is considerered obese) , i am right now picturing you in your scrubs, mighty short inseam i am sure :rotfl:. taking these measurments into consideration one could understand your disdain for the american units of measure. :rotfl:

yeah, i can see the picture before me.. like a pan pizza, diameter about five meters across, clad in blue scrubs and a pair of black crocs peekin out from under the edge.. if you look closely at the center of that pizza, the two round objects there are not olives, but my eyes trying to stare reproachfully at you, folks!

This thread is kinda old but I had to give a shout out for Dansko clogs. I work in a GI lab and am on my feet the majority of the time. I don't do well with soft shoes so Crocs and most athletic shoes don't work for me. I have been very happy with my Danskos.

z-coils!

They're expensive... but worth it!

What are these? I haven't heard of them.

These really help my feet for those 16 hour shifts.

They come in white too.

I tried those! But I found them a bit difficult during the times I have to swing around the pole. Perhaps I just need more practice.

Though I like the pressure around my calf, I have a hard time with transfering obese patients. I will say though it never fails to earn me a tip a two.:monkeydance: :monkeydance:

I've worn Dr. Scholls Tx sneaks which are only $40 at Famous Footwear. Built in gels with padding and support as well as no slip soles. Super comfortable in straight white with no insignias.

For lace up shoes I must go with New Balance. I have some superbirkis or whatever. Wish they were vented. Many people I know are raving about CROCS. Might have to give them a shot......light, relatively inexpensive (when compared to certain "professional clogs"), and have holes for venting.

hello my fellow nurse brothers...

before i take the plunge and dole out $110 for birkenstock clogs... which color do you think is better assuming your hospital has no policy when it comes to color?

am asking because am worried it will clash with future scrub solids since we can wear any color.

considering the "boston" variety...

[color=white]white?

[color=sienna]brown?

or

black?

not good with matching stuff fellas...

thanks in advance!
